The Gulf of Gökova, stretching between the historic city of Bodrum and the extremely attractive Datça-Peninsula, is a scenic gem – a highlight among our cycling tours in Turkey.
Completely spared from mass tourism, it is here that Turkey shows itself from its original side and offers the best prerequisites for an unforgettable active holiday. 1st day (Sat) Bodrum (Embarkation)
Individual flight to Bodrum airport and (if any) transfer to Bodrum (45 min). Check-in on board from 2 pm. Use the afternoon to stroll through the bustling city with its famous bazaar and imposing fortress. In the early evening, we board the boat. Dinner on board and overnight in Bodrum.
2nd day (Sun) Bodrum – Yalıҁiftlik (aprx. 11 mi./17 km)
After breakfast on board we can take part on a guided city tour by bike. The tour takes us not only to the imposing St. Peter’s fortress, but also to the Mausoleum of Halicarnassus, once one of the Seven Wonders of the World. Afterwards, we set off for our first bike tour to Kızılağaç, known for its local bazaar. After a rest, the tour continues to Yalıҁiftlik, where we can visit the beautiful beach for a dip in the cool water or relax in a tea garden for the afternoon. Dinner on board and overnight in Yalıҁiftlik.
3rd day (Mon) Yalıҁiftlik – Mazı – Akbük (aprx. 26 mi./41 km)
From Yalıҁiftlik, our bike tour takes us through the scenic natural landscapes of the hinterland and finally back to the coast to Mazı. Here, our ship awaits us for lunch and we can relax on board during the two and a half hours crossing to Akbük, a charming little harbor where we can enjoy the afternoon swimming. Dinner on board and overnight in Akbük.
4th day (Tue) Akbük – Akyaka (aprx. 19.4 mi./31 km)
A morning shuttle service will take us from Akbük to the charming mountain village of Sarnıçköy. The bike tour leads us from here to the neighboring village of Akyaka, where we can stop to admire the ancient rock tombs. This picturesque village is characterized by a pseudo-Seljuk-Ottoman architecture with significant wooden elements, unique to Turkey. This unique piece was designed by award-winning architect Nail Cakirhan. A small stroll through the village is well worth while. Dinner on board and overnight in Akyaka.
5th day (Wed) Akyaka – Ҁamlı (aprx. 21 mi./34 km)
A round trip by bike around Akyaka, will take us inland away from the coast. Enjoy the abundance of nature and solitude of this landscape before returning to Akyaka for lunch. Afterwards, we head to the picturesque Ҁamlı bay, where we can take a refreshing swim. Dinner on board and overnight in Çamli.
6th day (Thu) Ҁamlı – English Bay – Yedi adalar (aprx. 12.5 mi./20 km)
From Ҁamlı, today’s bike tour takes us through small villages and fragrant pine forests to the picturesque English Bay. In this beautiful bay we can swim to our heart’s content. The following passage by boat to Yedi Adalar (Seven Islands) offers us one and a half hours to relax and enjoy the sun and the salty sea air on our skin. Dinner on board and overnight at anchor.
7th day (Fri) Yedi Adalar – Körmen – Knidos (aprx. 26 mi./42 km)
The morning crossing takes us to Körmen on the Datça Peninsula, which we are able to discover by bike. A first ascent leads us to a height of 450 m/1.480 ft, before enjoying the descent back to the sea with a beautiful view over the Greek islands Nissyros, Tilos and Rhodes. The path ahead leads us along a scenic road along the coast before entering the suburban outskirts of Knidos. After visiting the impressive archaeological site, we spend the night in one of the most picturesque bays on the Turkish coast.
8th day (Sat) Knidos – Bodrum (Disembarkation)
After breakfast on board, enjoy the sea air during the last crossing to Bodrum. Arriving in Bodrum, it is time to say goodbye to your ship, the crew and your tour guides. Check-out and (if any) transfer to the airport and individual travel back home or extension of your holiday in Turkey.
Itinerary changes
We reserve the right to make changes to the planned itinerary due to changing wind and weather conditions as well as organizational requirements.
Level 2
The day-tours average of 10 – 25 mi./16 – 40 km and take you through mainly hilly and mountainous terrain and will be completed without any time-constraints. There are also some extended climbs where walking your bicycle is of course permitted. Most of the roads are asphalted and rarely frequented. Your tour guide informs you each day about the tour details. Helmet use is mandatory on all cycle tours. You are strongly encouraged to bring your own (well-fitted) helmet. Cycle helmets are available on board in limited number (on request). This tour is primarily a guided group tour. Upon consultation with your tour guides, the possibility to cycle on your own along recommended, suitable routes, may present itself. You are free to set aside a half or full day to swim or spend on board the boat, instead of taking a planned cycle tour.
Children
We believe that only children in a good physical condition and with a minimum age of 10 and previous bicycle tour experience are able to master the cycle tours on their own strength. Please note that the minimum height for a rental bicycles is 1.50 m (5 ft.)
Alternative Arrival via Kos
At this point in time many travelers are skeptical about flying into Turkey. We would therefore like to inform you that all of these tours offer an alternative flight route via Kos Island, followed by a ferry connection to Bodrum harbour.
Catering
The on-board chef is a member of the crew and prepares the breakfast and one warm meal a day. The half board starts with the dinner on the arrival day and ends with the breakfast on the departure day.
Internet availability
Our Turkish boats do not offer a WiFi connection. If you need to connect to the internet during the tour, we recommend to take your portable electronic device to a cafe or bar somewhere in the harbour. Free WiFi is on offer almost everywhere. If you order something to eat or drink, then you are able to use the WiFi to your hearts content.
Language
Due to our international audience all Islandhopping tours are conducted bilingually, in English and German.

The Osman Kurt is a beautifully designed 32-meter Gulet made of wood that has been crossing the sea since 2000 and was completely rebuilt in 2013. Beside the comfortable salon, 7 guest cabins are furnished with a sense for comfort with air conditioning and private shower and WC. The cosy sundeck offers plenty of space to relax in and reminisce on the wonderful tour experiences. The friendly crew gives all to ensure a carefree journey.
